Flights/Xmas??

Hello everyone!

I've never been to Mexico and I'd like to go this coming December...and I'd like to go to Baja.

My traveling companion and I are looking for lovely mostly empty beaches with options for kayaking and snorkeling and dozing in the sun. We are going in December, so I know avoiding tourist crowds is going to be almost impossible...but we want to try. Any recommendations on how to start planning this trip?? Where to fly into and where to go from there??
Thanks!

Depends when and where you are flying from. If you have to travel with the people who have to fly when school is out you may already be out of luck for Los Cabos. I booked from Seattle to Los Cabos (Dec 22) last week and there was one seat left.
Having said that, sounds like what you are looking for might aroung the East Cape or Loreto. Other Nomads should be able to give you more info on that.

Remember, when in Mexico, yes may be no and no may be
maybe!

Fly to Loreto or La Paz, rent a car and find beaches. From La Paz, go south to the East Cape. Or from Loreto, go north to Bahia de Conception. Most beaches that are accessible by a rent a car will be pretty crowded unless you get a 4X4. Also, be prepared for the cold. It is quite cold and windy in December/January. It does get sunny and warm most days.

Are you hotelling or camping ?
Are you planning to rent a car or stay put ?

In December, better to be south of Mulege for warm beaches and on the Cortez side for easy snorkelling and kayaking.
Fly into Loreto and stay there or head north towards Mulege ?
Maybe Playa Frambes will be open ??
Fly into La Paz and stay there of head south to La Ventana ?
Casa Verde is a very nice quiet retreat on the water.
