Shriners Info in Tijuana
Ok I did not know that the Shriners have a chapter in Tijuana, so I thought that this might be a good bit of info to share with you folks.
I know that most of you are active in giving and helping in the areas that you live. I just happened on this article

help some of the children in your area.
Shriner’s Physicians Offer Tijuana Children Treatment
Children with bone damage, congenital illnesses and burn victims, under any and all economic circumstances, were treated at no charge on June 30th at
Tijuana’s Children’s Hospital de las Californias by Shriner’s medical specialists.
This was the third bi-monthy visit by orthopedic, pediatric and plastic surgery specialists to Tijuana. They treat newborn children all the way to
18-year-olds.
They are able to see an average of two hundred minors that come from many locations of Baja California and even some from other northwestern Mexico
states.
The Tijuana Shriner’s Club invites the public who may have kids, or know of other children that have club foot, scoliosis, problems with their hands,
spine, dislocated hips, Rickets syndrome, harelip or burns to come in for a free doctor’s visit, which are ongoing throughout the year. The doctors
offer complete treatment free of charge and if necessary, the treatment is performed at their hospitals in Los Angeles or Sacramento. For travel to
the U.S., they also offer assistance in obtaining a humanitarian visa, in case the children need it.
Families interested in a consultation with a physician need to bring the child’s birth certificate, vaccination card and mother, father, or guardian’s

The Shriners do truly amazing work in Baja. Most of the children who receive treatment through these programs would have zero chance of getting the
type and magnitude of care for their illnesses anywhere in Mexico. These doctors perform miracles every day and they do all of it for free. The
Shriners burn institutes wrote the book on this type of care.
As a Mason, the work done by the Shrine throughout Mexico stands as an enormous source of pride for me - to be involved in an organization that
reaches out to do the right thing without asking for anything in return. If you have ever had an opportunity to meet a family with a disfigured child
that has received care through the Shrine - it is truly humbling.
We all take so much for granted in our lives and with the constant inundation of people asking for money for some cause it can be difficult to know
who to support. I can say without reservation that the Shriners represent some of the finest people anywhere and the work they do is unparallelled
nationally and abroad.

As a Mason, I have completed the work necessary to join the Shrine and plan to do so next year when I have more time. I can't think of anything more
rewarding than being a part of an organization that does this stuff. They are some of the finest people I have ever had the pleasure to meet.
