Dennis, I added my two cents{the beer & name) to a picture created by Nomad Randymac. Quite the artist he was, just too damn long-winded when
writing. Didn't no when to stop.

The "wind on your stern" comes in handy if you want to drink alone.

My good friend had a Norwegian roommate in college. I met all the other Norwegian students at our school and learned this great song.
"Ååå, så svinger vi på ..."
Ååå, så svinger vi på seidelen igjen - HEI SKÅL!!
(Oh, we're swinging the mug again - Cheers!)
Ååå, så havner vi på fyllefest igjen - HEI SKÅL!!
(Oh, we're ending up getting drunk again - Cheers!)
Ååå, så drikker vi opp pilsen vår igjen - HEI SKÅL!!
(Oh, we're taking 'bottom's up' again - Cheers!)
Ååå, jeg må ut med Totto nå igjen - HEI SKÅL!!
(Sorry, no translation. :-) - Cheers!)
Ååå sounds like "aye" and the whole thing usually starts with a single drunk person holding their drink up in the air and singing very
loudly...."aaAAAAaayyyYYe" for about 5 seconds to announce that the song is about to begin.
Everyone else joins in on cue, raises their drinks, and finishes the song together. The song builds in intensity with each word until everyone is
shouting "Aye Skol" at the end of the song right before they take a hearty drink.
Years later, I was in a crowded bar standing next to a group of strangers that started singing this song. I joined in as was welcomed as an honorary
Norwegian for the rest of the night. They were blown away that I knew the song. It's the only Norwegian I know.
