I would like to see that... any photos? What year did you 'liberate' those parts? Had to be in the 70's I think?

I went out there in the 80's and only the Franklin diesel motor and tranny remained.

Here'a another photo from the 70's this time... Laguna Percebu:

That's a great followup story. I'm with David K, I too would like to see photos of that brass salvage part from that shrimper.

Totally calm here in Oceanside Shari... about 5 miles inland in the San Luis Rey mission / river valley.

I was working in Escondido this afternoon, on a ridge overlooking San Pasqual Valley... it was breezy, but nothing beyond 'normal'.

the east wind picked up at about 11:30am on the beach in Oxnard. 30 Knots all day and about 80 degrees.

7:30pm, still blowing around 30Knots from the North East..

They downgraded all the marine forecasts just a bit this afternoon from gale warning, to 15 to 25 from the NE.

How many MPH is 30 Knots? Not all of us know this stuff.
Thanks, Bob H

They're back

The beach looks like a used shrimp boat lot and the P-nche wind has been howling all night. The camp road that I cleared of sand 2 days ago is now impassable and I need to put my tractor goggles on and get to work.

30 knots is about 35mph.

It turned into a wind "event" at about 9pm last night. I am guessing it was sustained around 50 with stronger gusts.crap flying around everywhere. down the road above point mugu they had a peak gust of 100mph..very light this morning
