Better flying Tijuana or San Diego to LosCabos/La Paz?

I have a friend who is going to drive to Rosarito, spend some time there, then he wants to meet up with us on the East Cape. We can either pick him up in La Paz or Los Cabos. Should he start out in Tijuana or San Diego?

air fare

Travelocity is showing 198 RT San Diego to Cabo. Not sure you can get it much cheaper flying from TJ.

I dont think theres any flights to San Jose International from Tijuana, there is to La Paz, if so consider that the fare will not be much cheaper, and you have to pay for Taxi from the La paz airport to the bus station, and then paid for Bus to cabo, and taxi to your hotel, thats about 40 to 50 dollars more, and 4 to 5 hours more as well for the bus ride and time wasted.

I saw the post about a fare from San Diego to Cabo of $198.00 round trip (RT). You should know that fare does not include the almost $90.00 in add-ons for taxes, airport fees, 9/11 safety surcharges, etc.

I don't know why but this year's lowest charges for flights to Cabo are a lot higher than last year's, and are running around $260-280 AT BEST.....some last minute fares might be as low as $230 but that's about all, folks.
