White Stuff in Baja...not the 'sandy' kind...
...I left the Mulege area on a trek North yesterday afternoon...got tired of driving just north of San Quentin and pulled over next to some Semi's to
get some rest...
About 4:30 AM was awakened by the sound of hail hitting the old Bronco's new paint job! It rained prettly much all the way up to Rosarito this
morning...with some great lightening flashes, and even a metorite sighting...and as I was passing about KM33 below Ensenada...some snow flakes were
hitting the windshield with the freezing cold rain!
I looked over on the mountains nearby and there it was...some White Stuff up there on top! I know it was probably gone by noon, but it was a first
for me along Hwy1...I'll bet the observatory got a bit of a dusting also!
The sun broke out before noon up here near the border, with lots of white puffy clouds...guess the rain is over, but it sure has made the Hwy 1 region
in the north mighty green, and a sight to behold with all the new wild flowers springing up all over!
Try it you'll like it....

It was here too. At what..4000 feet? It usually does it once a year. This one didn't last long....just a dusting.

Yes, Hail in Rosarito
At 4:00 am, the lightning and thunder was cracking simultaneously overhead and the hail started pounding down.
I didn't know if I should hide under the bed or grab the camera.
Since I can't operate the camera worth s*** in the dark, I went back to bed.
Palm Sunday morning - tired and cranky and no pictures of hail (maybe that's a good thing), but there were beautiful blue skies and fast passing
clouds to look at.

North of the border in Chino, CA there was a nice hail storm as well last night. Its neat to hear the same weather system was producing precipitation
in Baja as well. VIVA BAJA!!

Bob...
...yes, so far, so good. The old Bronco is over at the paint shop right now getting a nice fresh polish job! I'm going to pick it up in the morning
and head across the border...till then, I'm trying to mind my manners in TJ Town....
I'm thinking of finding a place to '''put a shrimp on the barby'' for dinner tonight...Oh, sorry, wrong country for St. Paddy's day...well, it will do
for now!

There was about 4 inches of snow at Rancho Conception which lies at 5000'. In the pic the start of San Pedro Martir is the top of the ridge. Its
mostly gone today!

Hi Baja Bass
We live in Pyramid Resort at Plaza del Mar. You new to the area? Stop by and say Hi sometime. Yep it was pretty funny to look down on our palapa and
have it covered in white. Where are you? Didn't you get the hail also? k
