Probs using Mac Netscape for Banamex?
Hola,
For years I used Explorer on my PC for Banamex Internet Banking.
I switched to Mac last November. I used the required Netscape to do banking.
It worked fine for a month or two. Now for the past two months I have been unable to get past the log-in page. Its not my account as I can get in on
the PC. Banamex says its not on their end.
Could someone please confirm if they are OK getting on with Mac/Netscape? Any Macfolks have a clue what I did on my end to block the site?
Thanks from a Mac-newbie.http://forums.bajanomad.com/images/smilies/puzzled.gif

Mac problems
This may or may not help.... try downloading Firefox and use that as your internet browser. It has better security features which certain sites, like
on-line banking, seems to "like." Good luck.

Here is the latest version I could find for Mac: http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/internet_utilities/net...
I also read that Netscape is on it's way out so if another browser works try it. I use Firefox and like it but haven't tried it with my Mex. Account.
Good Luck!

I use Firefox and it works well with all bank sites except Banamex. I use the extension "IE Tab" in order to logon to Banamex with
FF.

Thanks for the helpful comments and suggestions, Nomads!
Wish Id've asked you all two months ago when the problems first started.
I'll give them a try today.

Download and use firefox.
what you have to do is turn off your mac then turn it on again and you will be able to log into your banamex account with netscape. if you have to go
back into your account for some reason after you've already been in it, you will have to turn the machine off then on again to log in normally. if
you have to pay taxes in your banks portal then you will have to turn the machine off then on before you can access your account. I think cookies are
stored that track log in sessions and they can't be reset until you reset (turn off) your machine. no matter what, don't transfer money between
accounts in safari because it will do the transaction TWICE. Learned all this the hard way but aprat from this macs rule!

Great advice Pam... we have recently been having problems with safari and our online banking... will try firefox. (ps... really nice to see a post
from you again. Seems as though it has been awhile???)
Remember, when in Mexico, yes may be no and no may be
maybe!

On the PC side, you really need to have both IE and Firefox, if you prefer using Firefox. I prefer the Firefox interface by far but I have found
several problems where Firefox just doest format web pages correctly and sometimes wont allow interactivity on certain sites (like making purchases or
filling in fields).
At least that's my experience on the PC side.
Same goes with using Safari on the Mac side, only more so.
IE seems by far the most flawless browser of the three. I just dont like the newer interfaces. I use Firefox exclusively until I suspect a formatting
problem on a specific site. Then I open it with IE.

A add-on for Firefox lets you open a page in a IE tab within Firefox. It also will remember (if you allow cookies) when to do this for specific
websites.
