Dishnetwork for Cabo San Lucas area

I want to receive the Los Angeles networks which I understand are on a different satellite then most other programs which are on 119 degrees. Does anyone use two dishes to get the L.A channels ? Also if so, who installed it and what receiver model are you using? Thanks

NO !

The Los Angeles Networks on Dish are on 119 West, but via Spotbeam Transponders which are limited to around a 200-mile radius from Los Angeles. They are erratic below San Felipe and generally unavailable farther South.

Available on a National Feed from Dish Network via an independent vendor (at additional charge) to eligible subscribers are the four networks (ABC, CBS, Fox, NBC) from Atlanta and San Francisco.

Who is the Nomad who has a place in near Todos Santos(maybe Elias Calle) but is in Raleigh, NC most of the time who does sat installations?
Boy talking about a run on sentence!
My father in law is living with us now and every day at 5pm he tells me that the news is on and he wants to watch it. I turn on BBC on Sirius and let him listen but am thinking that he would really enjoy some USA news on the tv.

Anyone have any experience with SKY here in Los Cabos? I am a real luddite when it comes to tv here.

Hey Judy, I know who you are talking about in TS but cant remember his name. Next time in CSL ask Brad at the Tanga, I think he uses both SKY and one of the others also to get the widest sports coverage. In lieu of all that Alfredo Fisher in CSL has Fisher Enterprises. I will try to find a number. Suerte.

Your thinking of Max, "Nomad Bajabus." He does starband installations. If you have Sky you can watch Fox News and CBS News.

You get ABC/CBS/NBC feed from New York City. You also get CNN International and Fox News. Other channels include the Golf Channel, History Channel, Discovery Channel (but it is in Spanish) Disney Channel, Nickelodian, and some other off beat stuff.

About 50/50. The cost is around US$50 per month for basic service. If you want the premium channels it is more. I didn't think it was worth $50 per month so I cancelled my subscription.

Your best bet is to get Starchoice. It's a Canadian system with a small dish and you get all networks (from 3 time zones) in HD. You can get the "basic" service for around $40 month but it will cost you about $1,000 to buy the dish, receiver and installation. You can call John at Los Cabos A/V....
