Safety while in Northern Baja

I just read a Spanish post from Eduardo De La Pena who is a member of the "bajacamping" user group in Yahoo. Eduardo regularly organizes camping trips (all tents, no RV's) all over Baja, and he's a regular guy who tells-it-like-it-is. I really like his posts and his positive attitude. His most recent post lists a LONG list of do's and don't's while in Northern Baja, and especially in Tijuana. I could translate it all, but it would take me three hours to type it (i'm slow), but for those who read Spanish, here is a link to the post:
http://mx.groups.yahoo.com/group/bajacalifornias/message/824
He really has a superb way of communicating (he sounds well educated).

Thanx for letting me know. I am not a computer wiz, therefore I'll do my best to comply. I'm sure there is a keyboard combo to do just that, but I have enough trouble just typing without any spelling errors.

Thanks...that's good information. I have to be more careful about carrying credit cards because it's true that the more you carry with you, the more they can get from you. On the other hand, I don't even know the PINs for most of my cards since I never use them for cash withdrawals, so I'd probably just get shot.

Ey, senorita Aventurera!
I'm impressed that someone else can read and understand Spanish. I hope that other Nomads will be as well informed as you and I are.
I could be wrong...but I think that there is a way to do the same cut & paste to WORD, and then to change the language code to Spanish.

Don't ask me!

That's great information for everyone to keep. The website http://www.freetranslation.com/ contains a spanish to english transation dialogue box that allows translation of (most) text which is cut & paste. Similar information appeared in the Lonely Planet guidebook of Peru. When traveling to Lima and also the Amazon last summer, I was repeatedly reminded of these facts of life which affects everyone who lives and travels there.

It's an excellent photo, because it was a picture-perfect day in Playas de Tijuana, and I find it easier to smile when in Baja. :tumble:

The information about your camping in Baja group is great. I will sign up when I get the chance. This will be a welcome addition to all of the 4WD listserves I belong to.

Hola Fulano!
I Live on Live Oak between Acorn and All View, right in the middle if the steep part that everyone hates in the winter. My driveway has seen over 150 accidents since I've lived here. In slippery conditions, I sit on a beach chair and watch the entertainment.

This is a good, but GENERAL translation of the original post. I really appreciate gringette for going through the trouble to translate via the translation program.
But as most of us can see, some of the gist of the meaning is lost in the translation. I don't know if I could have done a better job, but those of us who know the language thoroughly understand the instructions given by the writer.
