Anyone watching "WEEDS"?

We saw them filming the Showtime series "Weeds" at the San Ysidro crossing a few weeks ago. They had the last two lanes blocked off (yeah like that helped thel ines).

This season drug-dealer-widowed-mom Nancy is based in some San Diego beach city (little bungalow a few house from the water)and is running drugs across the border by car for a mexican cartel $20,000 a pop. Kinda fun to watch them stuff all the drugs (and one talkative stow-away) in the vehicle.

They even did test run (script : "do you think 911 was the first time the terrorists got on a plane?") and used a bobble-head camera to record her actions during the test...

Here's tips from her puerto rican narco-boss for drug smuggling moms: no skirt-flapping (don't even ask), don't go through after a shift change when border guards are fresh and eager, no **** suits mid afternoon on a tuesday, buy stuff that fits your story, be the "all american mom" get yourself some J Crew, blend. be aware, look what's around you, take some beta blockers- calm yourself down, be relaxed, you are used to thinking east-west all your life... start thinking north-south.

Who writes this stuff?

There's a hole in the plot.

Why would someone smuggle "weed" into California? It's legal to grow 12 plants if you have a Doctor's Recomendation for it. And you can buy it too at CO-OPS. Little stores run by "caregivers"
Better quality than anything south of the border. But I'm sure it's a felony to bring it across because that's federal property.
I don't watch the show so maybe it was real drugs.

Ahh. the previuos season where nancy had a suburban grow house operation. A rival drug gang started squeeezing her- so she turned to the Mexican cartel for protection. They set the grow fields of the other gang on fire- causing the great fires last year north of LA (which hit at the time they were shootingin the area). That's why she moved south to San Diego.

Next week they show them parked at night on the Mexico side of the boder fence when federales pull up behind them and get out with machine guns. Sunday at 7pm- only on showtime :)

Inexpensive and it's a way point to other locations in the USA
