Sirenitas Graduation...off to Ensenada to UABC

Whew...it has been a whirlwind week for us as we spent a couple days in guerrero negro at sirenita's graduation from Prep School. We were honored that mi comadre came down from San Diego to share this special event. The day began with the Misa church service, then there was a nice ceremony in a big hall where Sirena received an award for acheiving 1st place in academic standings. She was also chosen as the valedictorian and gave an uplifting speech. Then that evening was a huge dance with 2 bands...here is a pic of sirena and some amigas at the dance
Here is a link to a photo album of the event

But this morning...after getting home in the wee hours of the morning from the grad dance here...Sirena packed her stuff into her madrina's car and sleepily they set out for Ensenada to organize for University. Of course I am mortified she is moving so far away...so...I've been thinking...
What do you think of planning a welcome to Ensenada party for Sirenita all you Nomads from that area??? We don't have any family there and it would be great if some of you could get to know Sirena and kind of keep tabs on her and make sure she's OK...it would be nice to have someone to call if she's lonely, for moral support or needs a favor(she really needs someone with a pick up to help her bring some furniture to her apartment she will buy at the second hand stores there). Many of our amigos have made contributions to help her get situated there of which I am sooooo grateful. It would make me feel better knowing she has some nomad amigos there. Maybe we can all get together just before school starts???? Anyway...best of luck Sirena in your new home, school and new adventure.

Very impressive photos. The ladies look beautiful in their gowns.
I will donate pickup truck time. I should be passing through Ensenada in two weekends.

Looks like you had a great time there! I'm sure you are so very proud of her! It's nice to see that she has her act together. I'm happy for you, your family and especially for your daughter and her outstanding accomplishments.

For some reason I don't see her having this problem. She is a very outgoing young lady and should not have any problem fitting in with new friends. You have done well, and I know she will do well too.
