Great thread. I love to lurk here, particularly in the Photo Gallery. It's like a tiny vacation in the middle of a hectic day.
Here are a couple of Midriff pictures shot a awhile back. A horde of yellowtail and couple of local tough guys. (hope this works!)

Gee, do you think they're big enough?
Note to self: Make pics smaller before posting.

Hey Tomal...great first post...gracias and welcome and we look forward to more posts from you. Seeing this grouper picture is appropriate today as
some nomads went fishing today and we think it was a monster grouper that just snapped his line in a second! Big Boy! The kids had a great time
fishing and what was truly wonderful is that yesterday Alec caught a nice big calico and today was his cousin's turn to catch a biggy....Oh how I love
it when kids get turned on to baja....these kids are definately baja hooked!

Wonder if those kids are going to be able to leave Baja.
Bet the stories they tell their friends when they get home will not only be positive, but with those pix, they won't even need to exaggerate about the
fishing!.

I took this picture on Saturday afternoon at the LA Cetto winery up above Ensenada. It is just another one of the Baja gems that I have come to
love...

Love all the photos---can't belive I started the thread and posted no photos---yet.
Hey, are we going fishing?

Can we chase what you just threw out there?

Ah, heck, lets just check out the tide pools.

We just can't get serious about fishing.
Keep the smiles coming.

Tomal, your pictures are beeee-autiful, and just the right size. They just fill the screen of my little laptop with room for the ID column (or
whatever you call it). I think I'd like that yellowtail picture to fill one wall of my house, or maybe 4 so we could live inside of it!

Well, I met Nomad Von this evening. Last week, on the post regarding what we did for a living, we realized that we both like to trail run. Tonight,
he joined a few of us for a great 10 mile run. Thanks to Baja Nomad that I met a running partner and friend.

"There is a simplicity to Mexico and its people that is difficult to find in Southern California. The U.S. is so full of itself and has so many rules.
Mexico is wild and free in a sense the U.S. has lost. There are so many people living in the States in close proximity that we need to have rules for
that environment. But sometimes they are just too much. Sometimes I just need Mexico."

This is turning into a first class thread
Shari:
Alec's cousin is holding an ocean whitefish by the looks of it. And to the right of him must be Juan's exercise bike.
Tomol:
That image of schooling yellowtails is stunning. It's in the Ken Bondy quality of underwater shoot. Please keep posting.
Diane:
I love the feel that your pictures convey about life at Asuncion. Casting barefoot into the surf and tidepooling. Both are favorite ways of spending
time.

Ahhhh...thank you for such a beautiful thread...Unwinding with pleasant posts and virtual friends looking
at photos of a beautiful countryside, fish, friends, family, winding winery green grape filled hills...
Shari - your friends from Hipolito..classic photo..we got stuck in the sand down in that region on my first
trip to the tip and back and I'll never forget the warmth and open-ness of the fisherman...that was 1986 and the folks in the photo look like family
to the fishermen who pulled us out and then proceeded to cook fish, blast the radio from their trucks, share beers, and share good vibes in a free and
easy way...
pompano- love the blending of the young and old...country living vibe...home cooking!
so many good photos, a sampling of the yummy baja we all know and love!
muchismas gracias - all baja lovers on this thread!
vivaloha!
Baja California can be a heaven or hell experience - often the determining factor is your AWARENESS in the moment.

A fun and interesting thread for sure, IMHO. It has not been grounded in only one direction or theme---more like several clips of tiny pieces of Baja
Lovers' thoughts in photos and words.
Without something over which to disagree, or a way to hijack it, some might file it under fluff, but IMHO, fluff is OK if it brings smiles to people.
Skipjack, you notice everything! I never would have noticed Juan's exercise bike in the background.
