More Good News
Nomads,
My first time to Baja was 1989...my sister was a kayak guide at that time with a small outfit that worked out of Loreto area for about 15 years or
so(...they stopped about 8 years ago....) and she invited me to do a 10-day exploratory paddle of the west side of Espiritu Santo ...
In all, I spent 4 weeks camping, paddling, VW bugging, hitchhiking all over the southern cape....
I fell in love with it all....
I returned in 1994 and spent 5 weeks motorcycling on and off-road....and have tried to do that every other year since....so I have about 8 trips to
Baja under my belt.
My Spanish language skills have developed on those trips and on others throughout Mexico and Central America over the years.
The Good News is that I have signed up for Spanish lessons so the local folks don't have to hear me butchering their language so badly on my next
trip.
I have always appreciated that I am a guest in their land and have tried to act accordingly...
While I have given up on my fantasy of parking an Airstream under a palapa somewhere between Bahia de los Angeles and the south tip, I continue to
plan winter rides at least every second year....
This board keeps the juices flowing and the information abundant....even a few opinions here and there for the entertainment factor...

An appreciative guest/visitor just looking in...
Don't believe everything you think....

Thanks---enjoyed both story and pix---- It is always good to read and see the
positive
But, don't give us the fantasy---keep it alive and well in your mind, and maybe, just maybe someday.

More of the good news
Nomads,
Well, you are just encouraging me...
Here are two stories w/ tons of pics that I posted a few years ago...
Mostly about my appreciation of the experience....aside from one story where a drama develops with travelling partners...
Hope you enjoy...

Hey Motoged;
Maybe not having a place is a great way to go.
My first trips to baja were always different with tons of adventures while camping and boating to private spots. Now I go to my place, which is
b-tchin' and all, but instead of having bonfires we watch a video...
Keep the homefries burning.

Marty,
Uh.... is that a video of a fire you watch??
Every trip I hit some favourite spots/routes....and also add a few new ones to fulfill the Almanac Fantasies...
Almanac Fantasies for those who aren't sure:
"The dreams concocted while sitting on the john reading the Baja Almanac"....
Trouble is that my legs go to sleep before I remember why I am sitting.....
Don't believe everything you think....
