Loreto Flights

Looks to me like this is how it's shaking out....Right now aprox. 1500 seats per week from the U. S. Continental from IAH Delta and Alaska from LAX. After Aug. 15, Delta and Continental bail out and Alaska reduces equipment size and frequency, only 150 to 200 seats a week from the U. S. and rates going to $550 for a 800 mile flight. Pobre Loreto.:(:(:(

It doesn't much matter how many seats there are if the plane is not filled. A number of flights were only half full, some almost empty.

My flight next week is over $600 from SFO...that's Delta...Alaska (soon to be just Horizon) was pretty much the same. The last Delta flight out of Loreto is August 17.

So...we get less flights and higher costs...the only answer is to just stay in Loreto instead of going back and forth!

Going from 1500 seats to about 150 will probably fill the planes.

I'll take you down for $400 per person. And I'll throw in some free beers, too.

October flights (Horizon) are already filling up.. The popular flights (thursday down and sunday returns) are filled.
Only three planes a week from LAX to LTO. It came in at $475RT off Alaska's site for "mid-oct" trip.

Does anyone know when the Alaska flight switches to Horizon and what the number of seats will go from on Alaska and to on Horizon?

Delta seems like it's usually half full, at best, on a small plane.

It seems like it's going to be a lot more difficult/costly to fly down when the Alaska flight gets smaller.

Already one flight a week is Horizon. I think the last Alaska flight is Sept 4. Alaska was flying 737s with a 124 passenger capacity. The Horizon Bombardiers carry 70.

Thanks for the heads up...I need a flight out of Loreto at the end of October...here's what I found on the Alaska website:

Oct 26th...1 handicapped seat plus emergency exit
Oct 28th...13 seats plus emergency exit
Oct 30th...25 seats plus emergency exit
Oct 31st...38 seats plus emergency exit

I don't know how many seats might be blocked and not show as available, but what shows is not a lot, except for Halloween...maybe no one wants to fly then!

Prices, one way LTO to SFO range from 258 to 335!
