4 more lanes open, Otay, Sunday evening

If you`re crossing Sunday, you may try Otay Sunday evening!

Text--

SAN DIEGO—Four additional passenger vehicle lanes are being added at the busy Otay Mesa border crossing Sunday evening to relieve northbound traffic jams.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection will test opening the port's cargo lanes for passenger cars between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. The cargo lanes shut down to big rigs at 4 p.m. on Sunday.
Spokesman Vincent Bond says it's possible the expanded entry lanes could be made permanent.
A similar test was conducted May 18, but only 300 vehicles were processed.
The test is designed to relieve the long wait times along the U.S.-Mexico border.

I'm a bit confused why they need to do a test? Seems to me if you open more lanes there will be less congestion.

We'll take four more lanes any time! Does anyone have an update on the construction on the streets before the crossing coming from the Blvd 2000?

pretty much completed and lots of signage directing you to the border (for the regular lanes). If you want to get to the SENTRI lane, follow the sign to Bellas Artes.
