Speakers for Mexico Expo on 8/23

Greetings:

A brief note that we have we have confirmed two more speakers for the show; The Secretary of Tourism of Baja California and the President of Rosarito Tourism.

We have several 25-minute presentations throughout the day with time for question and answer afterwards.

Sr. Oscar Escobedo, Sec'y of Tourism, will speak on Baja tourism, safety, the border and accept your questions beginning at 1:15pm. This will be the most attended presentation at the expo. Many people, including some Nomads (Doug, David K, etc) listened and had questions for the secretary at the last Mexico Expo in San Diego.

Laura Torres, President of the Rosarito Convention & Visitors Bureau will speak at 2pm.

We also have Bancomer speaking on banking and personal finance for foreigners and Front Porch/Luma Nayarit speaking about real estate and how to buy it in Mexico.

The complete list is at http://www.mexicotravelandrealestate.com/?s=1&l=1

Thanks,
Ted

I have noticed that that the expo is getting away from the business angle and now favors the tourism draw. Has there been a lack of participants from the Mexican business sector?
I am glad to see Bancomer there as this seems to be a real attempt by them to improve their customer service which has been terrible for years.

Hi Loki:

These expos (we've done them since 2006) change from year to year and city to city. This OC show is actually more real estate interests than tourism. The last show in San Diego was more tourism.

If you come up to the show, please introduce yourself Loki (and that goes for any Baja Nomads).

Nomads,

We had a cancellation in our list of speakers. Sr. Escobedo, the Baja Secretary of Tourism will not be able to be in Irvine on Saturday for personal reasons. Second in command, Alan Bautista the Marketing Director will speak.

Sorry for the change,
Ted
