its NOT that easy
you'll need to get someone to haul it to the border...
then
you'll need to get an import broker
then
he'll hook you up with someone to transport it across the border
(it'll need special permits)
then...
you'll need to get a local guy to take it down and set it up
might be better to get one in ensenada

Dianaji,
Did you have a deal fall through? (you indicated that your home would be moved in this week in a post a week ago)
In passing through Tecate, it appears someone out there is moving a lot of trailers/mobile homes into Mexico. You could sniff around there for some
referrals.
Good Luck,
Ken

I am real curious about this... Mexico is another country, and many Americans think it is no different than moving to Arizona, it sometimes seems.
Dianaji, we really are wishing you good luck, but your time table seems way too short for this big change. You have not replied to your other posts
about getting an FM-3 or moving details. The FM-3 will take many months alone... Perhaps you could stay in Baja on the FM-T (tourist card) while you
wait... But, where will you stay since the mobile home can't enter Mexico until you have the FM-3... at least legally from what I read...?
Perhaps there is someone in Mexico who could temp. keep the home in their name until you are a legal resident?

Understood... take it easy, but remember that Baja runs on 'Mexican Time' (you will learn what that means soon enough) and 'maņana' doesn't mean
'tomorrow', it just means 'not today'!
Again, we want the best for you... just realize things move at a slower rate in Mexico.

Call these guys, if they don't do cross border moves they probably can point you to someone who does. I found them doing a quick google search, I've
never used their services.

P.S. It took me 3 days and 3 visits to get a FM-3 by using the Mexican Consulate on India St. in San Diego. First day I picked up the forms and
instructions, second day I took everything back, third day I picked up the FM-3.

From what I've seen, there is at least 1 place south of Rosarito that sells mobile homes. On the Libre (going south) Just before the Rosarito Norte on
ramp (to go north on the cuota) there is an establishment selling mobile homes. I think they were called Casa Moviles San Diego. I don't know anything
other than that they exist. I don't vouch for their prices or their business practices. I've never done business with them. I've just seen their lot a
few times on the way south.

Find a nice used 5th-wheel or travel trailer. largest you can afford. Best deals I've found were on Craigslist.
Drive it across. Say you are touring. Once you cross you're done. No import, broker, fees, -nada.

I think you have an aerithmia - they call it "flutter".
Is there really any "lub-dub" to this story ??

Never too late. Put the Mhome up for sale, come down here and shop around. You will find people who are selling out at fire-sale prices. I know folks
who have abandoned mobile homes.
IMO, bringing in a mobile home is expensive and a cluster ****.

When i talked to you last week about your move you had told me that you hadn't even had power installed to your lot and you were going to talk to your
neighbors about it.
Diana, you had better get your lot and your resident papers in order first before you start to think about your moving this double-wide my friend.
Everyone on this board I'm sure only wants the best for you, so please listen to them. You don't want problems with this major undertaking.
Good luck with your adventure.
