I'll be replacing our recently demolished garage with a lovely new garden, so I'll be able to enjoy more of this when not in Baja.

Staying home putting in a flagstone patio, trying out some brisket in the new smoker, and watching to see where Hurricane Gustav is going to hit.
Oh...and having a few beers, or maybe more than a few...!

Really good to hear you are still smiling Mulegena...come and visit us if ya wanna take a break when you finish.
Even though it isn't a holiday in mexico, every day is like a holiday for me when I wake up in such a lovely place.
Juan has been fishing fishing fishing...keeping busy taking the hooks out of all those yellowtail mouths...keeps him hoppin around the panga for sure
as there are always double strikes....and one after another. The smiling clients complain of very sore wrists and arms but love the masseuse who comes
to their casa after fishing to rub away the pain.
We did escape to a secret beach spot yesterday for a nice afternoon of swimming. The beaches were full of croaker fishermen over the last few days.
All our friends and relatives have had nice yellowtail dinners.

I'm spending the weekend herding RV's around in the Sol Duc RV park!
But, if you have to work, the Olympic National Park and Sol Duc Hot Springs is a great place to do it!!!
It's not all work though, we have relatives visiting (in their RV's) and will have a feast in the forest on Monday with all the usual picnic/bbq food;
including homemade fresh apple pie ala mode.

Another shot of Thousand Island Lake's inlet at sunrise. The sun is reflecting in the water.
Glad everyone is having a great Labor Day weekend!

Spent today at Los Cerritos beach south of Todos Santos swimming, surfing and eating picnic tacos, chips, burritos with all the trimmings. And,
lots of pacifico's.....ice cold.
Water was in the early 80's. Tomorrow will be better. Same as above without the crowds. Hope all you Nomads have a great Labor Day, without the
labor.

Headed to Fontana yesterday a.m.
watched Jimmy Johnson (whose Dad was a real Baja racer)
drive 500 miles to victory,
then drove home and arrived at 3 a.m.
Jimmy drove 500, I drove 755
Just a typical California weekend.

We were up in the Sierras since Wed. for camping, swimming, and dirt biking fun. Got back a day early to get my head together for the week to come.
Today I will give thanks and reflection to those who have made it possible for us to more fully participate in our economy which allows fantastic
indulgences such as foreign travel/retirement, time off for driving to our favorite camping/hiking spots in our nice vehicles, our good food, and so
many other things we often take for granted. I salute those in our past who have risked their families' wellbeing and everything else by being fired,
blackballed, arrested, and worse in order to allow future generations of the unwashed masses to more fully help in the building of the greatest nation
yet and in turn helping it become a stabilizing force for much of the world.
