This was after John in 2006. This was the shallower arroyo to be crossed. We turned back when we got to the deeper one.

...not a big splash, but he did a good crash in the silt further down the San Raymundo wash...

Rancho Naranja Road...

And a hazardous water crossing in Ensenada....crossing the street to a primo taco stand...

Some other water hazard on the way home (south of Redding)..

And a warning at least...

Haven't any pictures of the actual event because it was pitch black dark and raining, BUT...
my most memorabale "water crossing" was waking up in the middle of the night during Hurricane John because the dog had jumped onto the bed because the
river was coming in the house and swimming out of the house and climbing up to the highway only to jump back into the water because there were still
people trapped in their homes... yep, that was it.

Wow, Joel that's a good one. After the SF250 race in 95 my brother and I went up the Compadre trail. North of the indian village out of Ojos Negros
there is a water crossing. A double crossing as there is like an island in the middle. It had been raining before we got there and with my brother
driving we went thru the first section onto the middle island and the second half the water was rushing madly with a full size Ford PU nose down
against a tree with water half way up. It scared the crap out of us and we turned tail and went back. As we cross over the same section we had just
come across the water was now over the hood of my 93 Toyota PU. We made it OK and became much wiser about water crossings. A friend was following us
in his van, he had stopped and after watching us he said "I don't know what you're smoking but I want some".

Not a lot of water, but in Baja... that's what is there!
The Calamajue river, 1979... This was the main gulf side route (Hwy. 5) until about 1983 when the graded road between Laguna Chapala and (today's)
Coco's Corner was built.

Flash flood, Arroyo Matomi... a couple of miles downstream from the rancho and waterfall...
I crossed it okay trying to drive in only to find a bigger crossing that I didn't attempt... This was driving back out, and my little 4WD Subaru got
stuck in the wet sand as the water kept rising! Dec. '78... Before the water entered the doors, it came to me to deflate the tires, it was sand
afterall... and I was able to drive out before the Matomi River consumed my Subaru and left me stranded in a most remote point in Baja!
