Nomad BBQ in San Roque...best meal of the year!!!

I had a hard time deciding what catagory to put this post under...could be trip report cause it's been such a TRIP the last few days with some nomad guests...or fishing as they caught lots of yellowtail and dorado...or camping cause sundogs camping is outstanding...you get the picture!

Birdog and wife finally arrived after a 3 day gruelling drive from Iowa and were oh so happy to jump into the ocean with their labs (who had to learn not to drink the water!)

Their first day here Denny got wiped out by a big wave and had a very fat lip and doggie Gus got pummeled a few times too and learned respect for the waves. It has pretty much been non stop FUN with them all week. Denny brought wonderful pheasant and last night we enjoyed the best meal EVER!!!

Sundog and lovely Jessica camped in San Roque and we gathered for a BBQ which turned out to be the most amazing meal I've ever had...it began with oysters...then the main course was grilled dorado from that mornings' fishing trip, a porkloin by Sundog, and outrageously delicious deer steaks by Denny and fabulous papas and maple syrup carrots by Jessica and even dessert!!!

The dogs had a totally great time on the beach too and scored lots of tidbits from the dinner.

We were all so stuffed it bordered on perverted. Sundog and Kevin enjoyed a good cigar afterwards while the rest of us revelled in our full tummies.

It was truly one of those magic evenings...great conversation...lots of belly laughs, amazing food and gorgeous place.

Man, that looks like fun!!!

Well....today rates way up there with the day we had to take a toxified Gypsy into emergency....michelle had a very rough night hangin around the toilet bowl (too much information???) so she didn't go fishing.

Denny braved his hangover and had the best fishing trip he's EVER had and caught the biggest fish he's ever caught too!! A few nice yellowtail were caught before we had to abort the mission due to mal de mar....Denny shared his breakfast with the fishies!!! poor guy...so I think today will be a down day!!!

Attention lady Nomads. Don't try to drink like a Canadian when in Baja. Leave that to the professionals.
And don't try to drink like a Fishbuck at a tequilla tasting party either. No one should ever attempt that. Especially Fishbuck ;)
Hope she feels better and them are some mean looking Yellowtail. Mi Gusta mucho!

Yes us Canadian's have been known to have a drink or 3 or maybe even 4, it can be quite daunting to try to keep up!!!

Ya, she requested puppy stuff when I asked her what she needed.
What is puppy stuff? I live near Petsmart.

Well...seeing as everyone is still recovering from the last few days of baccanal(?) glutton parties...today Juan invited the chief and vice chief of police out fishing.
This is a great way to improve tourism... the police are extra helpful to the visitors here and not fine them if they fail to comply with some road rules...(the stop signs are so little and lots of people park the wrong way in front of some of the beer stores)...just let them know in a friendly way about their mistakes. A happy policia is a good policia.

Nice report Shari, that sure was a heckuva fun night in San Roque...after 4 days of surf-bliss down in Abreojos, that was a great way to end a trip! It was definitely great to see you and Juan again.

We made it home today and Simba is in the loving arms of Sirenita as of this morning, she is one happy girl for sure! It was nice to finally meet her. Other than puking up some of birddogs yellowtail guts on the way up, the evolution was smooth as silk.

A few pics attached...

Also, Sunman y Yessica send their regards to the Birddogs & Kevin, what a great folks to party with!!

mil gracias amigos for that doggie delivery! There is no rest for the wicked...as you pulled out, the new arrivals pulled in and they certainly match the Birddogs in the party department...which says ALOT!
We just had to have another baked big yellowtail last night and another patio party....ho hummm. Glad to report Denny & MIchelle are back in action.... big swells here still making swimming an adrenalin rush and fishing....well.....just don't eat much breakfast.
