My family is going through a wave of Quincearas (sp?) withe the young ladies. The list is pretty much interchangeable for that occasion too!

Great post. How true, how true.
Loved the one about the party ending when the cops show up.
Prior to my retirement, when I would get a call to the barrio about a loud Mexican wedding party, the offending party giver would always bring me
inside, introduce me to the wedding couple, offer me a cerveza, a tequila shooter and a plate full of great Mexican food. Couldn't do the alcohol,
but can they ever cook!

So long as this thread is so loving (yet politically incorrect) I must submit ( and please don't flame me) the following
" busier than..."one liner that I really like (my love for my Mexican neighbors is well known) because it fits.
"Busier than the jumper cables at a Mexican wedding."
Undoubtedly, there are people who cannot afford to give the anchor of sanity even the slightest tug. Sam Harris
"The situation is far too dire for pessimism."

laughable
my big bro has some great one liners....
He is a co owner of our Baja hideaway and loves our local friends and neighbors (almost) as much as I do....
It is with humor, but not disrespect that he says:
"Shakin' like the Mexican Space Shuttle"
which is right up there with:
"Shakin' like a cold Chihuahua"
I think we need some of our Mx. National Nomads to join in here.... I'm sure there are a few great gringo jokes we should all be laughing to also !
My old friend Jack (RIP) whom I made a few early trips to Baja with used to
say:
"No point in taking life too seriously, 'cause you'll never get out of it alive ! "
Its all just stuff and some numbers.
A day spent sailing isn\'t deducted from one\'s life.
