If a Deaf Baja Dog Barks

is he really deaf?

Our merlequin Great Dane puppy barks while playing with his siblings.

Is he truly deaf or just hearing impaired?

*Edit Add: This is Baja related because he was born and lives in Baja.*

He is probably hearing through direct, contact vibration ...

Like a transducer .... thru mass rather than air ....

My sister has a deaf Merlequin Great Dane too. He barks, but a quiet woof type of bark. She has other hearing Danes too, so maybe he feels their vibrations and joins in?

Does he hear the sound of leaves falling?

Is he concerned about the cat in the house?

Does he love the sound/vision of the falling water of his fountain?

Gringo haiku.
