COCO FANS

How do I start this thread?,let see, last year a travel 200+/- miles to meet this Baja favorite, and what happens? he wasn't there. He was away do to his illnes on his leg, so I continue my trip to Gozaga Bay(thas another story).
Well on sep 27 my son participated on the Last of it's kind,ROSARITO & ENSENADA 50 MILE FUN RIDE.So I drop him off in Rosarito and the drive to Ensenada to pick him up, while checking the TECATE girls I notice a large man behind the girls, to my sorprise It was Senor COCO himself,I had found him with out even looking, I didn't have alot time to talk to him, because I had to go look for mi son, but I was able to talk to him for a few minutes. He is real happy about getting the wheelshare and also looking foward to Paul Visit.
He is staying in Ensenada for now, due to he has to keep threading his legs, plus his place was raid it when he was gone.I will make this story short, good things come to those who wait...It was a pleasure to meet him and also to take a picture with him,Im looking foward to see him back in COCO'S CORNER in the near future.

OMG, Thanks Bajacat!!!! Been wondering if he fell in love in Ensenada or what???? If I had been wearing panties that day, they would be in that picture. Hey, who's running his corner in his abscense, or is it just closed? Did he mention if or when he plans to return?

Nice photos Bajacat.
Folks at Avrider were collecting funds for a new wheelchair for Coco but later released some of the funds directly to Coco for his care in Ensenada.

The contact for donations was/is (dochstader@shaw.ca) if you want to consider sending some $$ for Coco's recovery or wheelchair fund.

I heard that some one or organization made him a 4WD wheelchair so he can get around like he used to. When I met him, he was making road preperations for the Baja 1000 and when we arrived, he was yelling at some pre runners for going too fast by his place and messing it up. I wonder if he got the 4wd one yet? And, by the way, I didn't think his toilet was so bad, the door closed and it wasn't on the highway where I usually go (addressed to an earlier post).

Duh, jokes on me, now I get it....the toilet thing wasn't about the stalls out behind, unless......someone really didn't know they were there.

We will be seeing Coco on our way down to our La Paz clinic on about Oct. 8th or 9th. I have an address and a phone number for Pablo Ibarra, his friend who he's staying with in Ensenada. I have 1 manual as well as 1 electric wheelchair for him. Our plan is to deliver the wheelchairs, measure and cast for new prostheses (that is to say if his newest amputated side is ready for the use of a prosthesis), and then fabricate them in our large laboratory/workshop in La Paz and deliver them on our way back to the US.
When I last spoke to Coco on the phone (a few weeks back) he said that he does intend to get back to his "Corner" when everything is settled.

I saw Coco at Horsepower Ranch last week - apparently the guys there gave his car a new paint job and some of the BFG guys there on tour were talking about setting him up with new wheels and tires. Rumor is that he now has some hand controls for the car, much better than driving using sticks to work the pedals!
