Toast time

I know it's only about 3 PM but I'm raising a toast to Nomad goodfellowship. The forum has been very mellow -- good info, pleasant back and forth -- thanks to help from the moderators (no doubt) and the rest of us who can stay civil and optimistic with the world crashing down around us and storms threatening our tranquility. Huzzah!

'The Hurricane'

The Hurricane became popular at Pat O'Briens bar in 1940's New Orleans, apparently debuted at the 1939 World's Fair.

Ingredients:
2 oz light rum
2 oz dark rum
2 oz passion fruit juice
1 oz orange juice
juice of a half a lime
1 Tbsp simple syrup
1 Tbsp grenadine
orange slice and cherry for garnish

Preparation:
Squeeze juice from half a lime into shaker over ice.
Pour the remaining ingredients into the c-cktail shaker.
Shake well.
Strain into a hurricane glass.
Garnish with a cherry and an orange slice.

Ugh...for myself, I think I'll just splash a little more JD into my glass.

SKOL!

Yep! Those 'Hurricane" libations are downright tasty, either homemade or courtesy of Pat O'Briens. The atmospheric variety aren't.:) A "cat" any kind of hurricane is bad news.:D

There's Nothing Like a Toast Raised

In Celebration of Good Fellowship.

I raise my glass to all Nomads; the explorers who freely share stories about their adventures, the passionate opinionated contributors from all sides of the spectrum, the greatly talented photographers who share their art with us and the unending selflessness of Nomads who volunteer wisdom and practical advice to those who are new to this magical world.

Cheers, GJ

Osprey, you are one of the few who has repeatedley called for reason and some level of social development. I guess we only get into trouble when we go astray with Maslov's Heirarchy of Needs. But you are right, it has been downright enjoyable to key up Bajanomads as of late. Hope those misfortunate few have found another place to rile up.:smug::smug:
