Hook...
There are no secret spots in Baja anymore....the last one was Bart's Ladies Bar of Mulege before it was raided.

There are few others in neighborhood also.
Point Loma Sea Food for squidsteak and smoked fish sandwiches, order a cold Ale and go outside and enjoy while watching the fishing boats!
Old Venice for good italian food also is just around the corner from Boll Weevil.
Umi the Sushi Restaurant across from the Brig is worth a try, they have excellent rolls.
Last time on Shelter Island Boll Weevil was still in business. They have been closing a number of restaurants lately. Still open in Lakeside and La
Mesa though.

Right you are, Ken.
I have eaten at all the ones you mentioned and have the extra pounds to show for it! I recall having my first truly great Italian meal at Old Venice
back in the 70's with some Baja sailing buddies. I will be gaurding my french fries from the seagulls at Pt. Loma Seafood in a couple days..then
shopping next door at Fisherman's Landing and Hook, Line, and Sinker for Baja supplies.
Would you please pass the vinegar. eh?

Speaking of good burgers:
I have to go to LA next week. Anyone know if the Apple Pan is still open? (Pico & Westwood)

Dave, what is the name of that Chula Vista burger place? I will be going into the marina near there and will certainly test one.
Can't help you with LA, as my kevlar warranty forbids travel there.

860 Broadway. Between Marina Pkwy and L. West side of street. Not called Boll Weevil. Not sure of new name but the exact same menu.

Pompano,
If you get to Broadway in Chula Vista, forget a Burger and have a steak at the Butcher Shop served by a delightful waitstaff!
