A dream Trip for Two.

Been trying to figure out a way to let you folks know that my new Lady and I would be taking a dream trip down one side of the Baja Peninsula and back up the Sea of Cortez side. Jaime and I have both been exploring Baja for over 45 years but never together. So here is our chance.

We plan on leaving the States on March 29, 2009 and are planning on returning on April 14th.

The only two sure things on this trip is that we will be going it together and that we will be staying at the Cascades de Baja from April 2nd through the 8th. We both hope that our Cabo area friends can join us for a c-cktail and some conversation.

After I got off the floor, racked with laughter, I needed to share this humorous story Jaime told me. Seems she wanted to drive to the tip of Baja, so she picked a racing aficionado to join her. She did not want to embarrass the person, so we gave him a fictitious name…David Peters.
On the way to Guerrero Negro to pet the whales, the F150 got a flat tire. After some cursing and a few beers, David had the tire fixed. On the way back from the Black Lagoon, Baja struck again, another flat tire. Once again, David set out the daunting task of changing the flat tire. When she could not longer contain herself, she asked what David was doing. He remarked “ I am changing a flat tire.” She finally pulled herself together, stopped laughing long enough to say “you may be changing the tire, but that is not the flat tire.”

Rest assured, I will be standing in the shade, drinking a cool one while Jaime is changing the flat tire.

Really looking forward to visiting all of my Nomad Friends as we wander up and down the coast visiting the beaches we wish to wander about and write upon.....after we love there on.
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

So looking forward to visiting all of you.

Good for you Bernie...

2 weeks may not be enough to see as much as you can... but it is better than not going at all!

I recommend a visit to Agua Verde... beautiful area... the hot springs at the water's edge near San Cosme (at the bottom of the big grade) are supposed to be great! It was high tide when I was there last, couldn't get to them!

I may need help with that flat tire joke...?

Bernie,

Your dates will be a bit late for prime whale viewing - maybe at GN.

If you make it to Asuncion, take a boat ride with Juan to Isle Asuncion to get a close up of the sea lions and maybe a passing whale.
And drop a line while you're out, Juan can set you up with gear.
You won't regret the time spent, being on the water; fills a part of your soul.

Enjoy !!
