New National Geographic Adventure Maps of Baja

First let me apologize for some bad info. These maps are not included in the National Geographic Travelers Mag as previously stated. They were made in conjunction with the article on Baja but are sold separately.

AND we will have them. They are on their way to us. Should have them next week!

There are two maps, one of Baja California($13), one of Baja California Sur($13) and the Baja Bundle pack which includes both($20).

They are printed on durable waterproof-tear resistant material which is designed to stand up to whatever conditions you encounter.

They will also be available from our website soon for shipping within the USA at $12 each or $20 for the bundle.

Thanks Judy... I figured you saw my request and decided not to nag you too much about it, lol!

I would like the bundle please... When should I place the actual order, now or after you have them in stock?

Hey... me too! (I wonder if they have that road from Laguna Chapala to the coast?)

(On edit: Me too for the bundle, that is!)

Here you go Andy...

Well, actually I drew it in along with a couple other roads that were missing from the AAA map and a mis-located Mision Santa Maria!

Thanks to all interested in ordering.
We will work out the details when we have them in hand. We never take money for anything that we dont actually have.
It will be nice to have a new map, wont it?

Yes it will... and won't we also be glad for a new Baja Almanac! I sent a new email question to Landon's friend, but have not heard back this time. We only know that Landon moved to San Diego from Las Vegas and he is working on perfecting the new edition... The timing would sure be great for Christmas if he had it done soon!

Bajajudy, How do these maps compare to the AAA or the Baja Almanac folding maps? Is is possible to show a detailed picture of a section of the map? I'll be ordering a set because I like the waterproof material and the tear resistant featue. Thanks

you can see samples on the nat geographic website -- go google the map title to find it. has OK road detail to be a general road map on way to your destination, but scale is too big to show minor roads and detail once you reach your destination.

Yup...go here: http://www.natgeomaps.com/bajanorth.html and / or here: http://www.natgeomaps.com/bajasouth

The entire map can be viewed up close when you click on the map magnifying glass to 'zoomify'... They have Baja norte in two windows... Looks like the standard Mexican road map showing two roads into Mision Santa Maria, the long abandoned route in Valle Chico to Matomi and not the newer one that has been there for 30 years, and on the Sur map, the entire road into El Arco is shown as paved, the Asuncion and Tortugas roads are shown all paved, but the Abreojos road is shown as all dirt. A road is shown between San Francisco de la Sierra and Santa Marta, etc.... so not a true National Geographic work of accuracy, just a dressed up government road map. The datum given is Mexico's NAD 27, too. Of course, I am being super critical and your detail needs may not be as intense.

It will make a nice color wall map or a general guide to an area... I still look forward to getting them... :light:

Nothing... (my GPS waypoints are given at NAD27 to match with Mexican topo/ Baja Almanac). I mentioned that as further evidence that these are not new National Geographic made maps, but Mexican government made. The errors are shared between the Almanac (gov't topos) and these new maps...

Have you seen my GPS web page?: http://community-2.webtv.net/thebaja/bajagpslist/

For us in the states, do the maps come from San Jose del Cabo or do they still come from your U.S. outlet?
