FREE BAJA BOOK for Nomads... 'Baja Bound to Cabo and Back'

Author Taggart George, of Far and Away Publications, would like anyone here at Baja Nomad who would like a copy of his 202 page travel story/ essay
'Baja Bound, To Cabo and Back' c2006, to contact him and all he asks if you could cover the shipping cost... The reason for the give-a-way is he needs
to make room for new projects and prefers the book be enjoyed by Baja travel ethusiasts rather than thrown out. When you self publish, part of your
home becomes a warehouse (ask Bernie)! The book is very professionally done.
Back Cover Excerpt:
>>> Several hours later I was sweating, covered in sand, and, of course, the truck was still firmly stuck. Meanwhile I had managed to trash
our floor mats, excavate a sizeable hole, and was now running out of ideas on how to free the truck by myself. . . . Walking up the beach in the
dwindling twilight, I rehearsed in my head the Spanish phrase for “stuck in the sand.”
Such are the beginnings of a sixteen-day adventure driving the Baja Peninsula. With nothing more than a couple of well-worn guidebooks, camping gear,
and a bright yellow kayak strapped to the roof, Taggart and Kat George set off on an epic road trip―driving to Cabo and back.
Baja Bound is an engaging tale of life on the open road that speaks directly to the hearts of those who dream of far and away places. A captivating
read that takes you from the shores of the Sea of Cortez to the rugged mountains of Baja’s interior. Discover Baja as each day unfolds, one mile at a
time.
More than just the tale of an epic road trip, Baja Bound is a collection of breathtaking discoveries, amazing adventures, and, of course, the
occasional blunder. Baja Bound captures the adventuring spirit and leaves the reader uplifted and ready to embark on their own personal odyssey.
<<<
I met Taggart at the Discover Baja Christmas party in 2006 and purchased his book... I enjoyed reading the story of his and wife Kat's first trip down
the peninsula. It was filled with many of the common experiences we all have had... including getting stuck in the San Felipe beach sand on their
first day in Baja!
From an email Taggart sent me:
" If you wouldn't mind putting the word out on BajaNomad, that would be great. If anyone is interested you can refer them to www.farandawaypub.com or just email at bajabound@farandawaypub.com It costs about $3 to ship "

$3 to ship a book to Todos Santos?
Some people forget that some Baja lovers actually LIVE in Baja...
Thanks for the offer. Maybe you can bring a copy down yourself next time you come to Todos Santos - that is in Baja California Sur, about half way
between La Paz and Cabo San Lucas, on the Pacific Side...

I also Live in Baja and sometimes feel there that most of your posts are aimed at people who live in the US or in the north of Baja California.
And then there is duty !!!!!
Which could easily exceed the retail value of the item.

De nada Tom...
amir and Cabo Ron, please follow his instructions in my post and email Taggart to ask about shippiment to Mexico. Perhaps Judy has his book in San
Jose del Cabo and it will be cheaper and faster to buy one from her?
Again, for most of you this is just an opportunety to get a good Baja trip book to read for just the shipping cost... Email Taggart and tell him you
saw the offer on Baja Nomad.
Any Nomads who are in San Diego's North County can get one from me, as I have several Taggart sent here...

I received mine in about a week from when I sent the money - don't remember how I did that as I rarely use checks. But no delay - nice story.

How incredibly rude - $3 is nothing compared to what you would pay for a book online or from a bookstore... and who would ever do someone las
inappropriate as you any favor?
Can't believe you are an 'senior' nomad - someone as rude as you should not be a nomad at all.
Cheers, BajaBad

Bajabad,
Read Amir's post again. He is not protesting the $3.00 shipping charge. That is the price to ship within the U.S. Amir is saying that it would cost
a lot more to ship into Baja, and there could be importing complications as well. He was calling this to D.K's attention because it appears to be
overlooked by him. Amir was just reminding D.K. that some Nomads actually live in Baja, and are not armchair wannabes.
He and his wife used to be delightful posters here on the Nomad but they have lost interest in posting regularly because of the uncivil culture that
has pervaded. Your haste to judgment is skewed by faulty reading comprehension. What a shame.

BajaBad & LandcairDriver,
I do believe Amir was just questioning if the cheap price Taggart mentioned to ship his book was for Mexico as well as the states... since many Nomads
live in Mexico. I do not see it as a complaint, as there was no exclamation mark (!) along with the question mark.
Toneart,
I just printed Taggart's letter with HIS quote about the price to ship. I did not overlook any Nomad's address, nor implied anything other than to
share Taggart's message.
Here it is again:

David,
I did not mean to infer that you did anything wrong. You did what was asked of you. I just thought the Baja resident shipping costs were not
considered. I know you are passionate about Baja and you promote a lot of goodwill on the Nomad. Also, it was very kind of you to offer free books to
anyone who wants to stop by your house.
