This is the part of the article that made my eyebrows stand at attention -

Quote:
Because the kayak and I didn't weigh as much as the fish, he never really had more than 250 yards of line out. At no point did I think I would get spooled, but I did get a heck of a "Baja sleigh ride." The first hour and a half was definitely the hardest for me.

And, that was just the beginning! Wow!

Thanks for posting this bajajudy.

LaJolla Kayak fishing

I have fished with Jim a few times and would encourage anyone who really wants to master the art of catching big fish this is the "go to" guy. This is Punta Colorado where we daisy chained about 10 Kayaks out a couple of miles and had a ball.

"By about the fifth hour, everyone was getting eager for it to end. We would run out of daylight soon and now had a 15-mile run back to the hotel, because we had been pulled more than 10 miles from where the fight started."

UNREAL!

That is nuts. I wonder how long it would have taken to land the marlin if they had enough time/daylight/energy to do so.

Think of the torment that poor fish went through for nothing. Sounds pretty selfish to me.
