Punta Banda OXXO

Good news for the PB folks. The OXXO at the service station under construction is open...you know that...and will in a couple of months Mexican Time have a couple of ATMs, HSBC being one of them. Diesel too when the station is up and running.
Good prices on beer as well which makes this a public service announcement.

The good prices on beer is because OXXO is owned by the people that brew it!

Bottles as well, Ken. I noticed twelve packs but didn't do a full inventory. Nothing with deposit. They have a capuccino machine too which really turns the calendar pages for this area. Times they are a'changin.

This is big for Maneadero. Now, if the grocery chains would only compete, the prices would drop for a segment of society who could most use the help.

I think they use a ouija board to decide where to put stores. There's that big glut of big box stores not far from the new civic center. Yet, something I don't understand- There is neither a Wal-Mart, Sam's Club or Costco in La Paz.

Dennis,

Such a deal! But tell me I have been under the assumption that only deposit bottled beer was available in Mexico. Does the price work out to be similar between the two bottled beers? Say Pacifico?

Will be on my provision stop in future trips.

Fred,
I would venture to guess probably not as liquor transactions cannot occur before 10 am. As you may know, those boys at the Liar's club meet for coffee way too early to go directly from there to OXXO.

Perhaps if there were a shuttle service from Sharkeys?

ps. Thanks for the public service announcement Dennis. When the fuel becomes available I'll really be in heaven.

No, Ken..It's all available in the throw-away packaging. Sol even has an NA beer on the shelves.
Deposit bottles are still available but, I'm done with them. Too much trouble hanging on to them and storage is crazy. I'm sure it cost a bit more but, it's in my budget. For instance, I've been hoarding Noche Buena for a cost of 92 Ps per 12pak. What's that.....seven US bucks [+-] for twelve, tax included. Can't beat the price.
Invest wisely.
