Be careful here...

Know what you're doing. All scuba gear is technically life-support equipment. Breathing tainted air from a poorly maintained compressor can kill, and using a tank that is out of test may cause it to explode.

With respect, there are standards in the industry that are there for your safety, but its up to the individual to choose to meet those standards with regards to their own equipment.

Good point - the folks that are interested are professional divers (in the water 4-5 days per week) and actually rebuild these things themselves to spec. I trust they know what they are doing...
