SKYPE
When using skype and calling a Mexican cell in Baja. When in Baja and calling a cell you have to dial 044 or 045 for La Paz and Cabo. I have used
several combinations with no luck. Anyone have any ideas?

Have you tried (for Cabo) 044 624 + number?

Are you trying to call from the United States to a Mexico cell phone? Not clear as to if you are in Baja right now.
Not sure about SKYPE, but with any regular phone if you are calling from the US to a Mexican cell phone, dial
011-52-1 + area code and number. You do not use the 044 or the 045.
The one before the area code means you are calling a cell phone.

If youre Skype is registered in the US and you have a Skype out credit then to call a mexican cel it would be 011 52 1 (3 digit area code) 7 digit
phone number.
To Skype out to a mexican land line 011 52 (3digit area code) 7 digit number.
The 044 and 045 are for people calling from a mexican land line or cel phone to a mexican cel phone.

hey Ferna...do you know if it is cheaper to make a call on my skype to a mexican cell phone than if I just use my cell? might be good for keeping
track of Sirenita.

I recently read that Vonage will not connect to any cell phone. Could be the same thing with Skype.

I show Skype as running .021 cents per minute for calling Mexican Cell phones and Ferna is right, you have to dial it like you were still in the US.
So, if you want to call Sirenita it should be a lot cheaper than using a land line.

You are , of course missing the real strength of Skype ...
If you call computer to computer it is free anywhere in the world ...
BTW, I have had no luck reaching Mex cells with Skype.
