San Felipe Propane?
Does anyone know the best place to get my grill LP Gas tank filled? It would be apprecaited.

We've always used the propane station that is across the street from the soccer field as you come in to town. Turn right off the highway and it's up
on the left hand side.
Forget about the danger and think of the fun.

Ditto on that, it's our spot too for refills.
However, if they are not open and you NEED propane like right now you S.O.L.
Unless I have a lot of small (BBQ sized) bottles to fill I just trade the bottles at gas stations or Home Depot or WalMart or some conviniance stores.
Average trade is $20 for a full bottle. Even if your bottle is expired from a Hydro test. BTW, the BBQ type bottles are good for 12 years from
Manufacuture date stamped on bottle. I like my bottles fresh...
N2Baja, how the heck are you. Missed you this past New Years...Come on the trail ride with us at President's Weekend. How's Mr. N2Baja and kids?

Yes, however my tank is in Mexico, otherwise I would. I guess I could take my tank here in town and fill it and take the other one back. Damn you
guys and gals make me have to think!!

Enter town past the arches, past the first Pemex station on the right then the next stop sign turn right. Sign there also says Naval Base. Go about
1/4 mile and you'll see the main propane distributor on the left. A 7lb bottle cost about 155 Pesos about a month ago.

That's the place, but I think you mean a 7 gal. bottle. We just had ours filled in Dec. for 160 pesos. Fill them in Baja if you're able, seems
there's quite a price difference. We were surprised to fill the tank in the RV stateside recently at $3.75 / gal. Does that price vary widely by
the distributor? Did I get completely hosed?

We just drove thru 4 states in a moho powered by propane and gas
thats the price alright...welcome to the US
Cheaper for us to drive solely on gas

Last time we filled, it was about the same price as gasoline so I figured the price just kept pace with gas. Of course that was a year and a half
ago.

Propane is a waste bi-product of refining gas
In Wa state...The guy told us if we buy it for the bar-b-que
it is taxed at 8%
For the moho..taxed at 13%
go figure...

Mex propane is not refined and filtered like US propane. Actually it gets pretty
filthy at times. The warning smell when the bottle is empty really stinks. I use it in all my propane operated devices and have had no problems. The only
problem I've heard of is in those Buddy Heaters. They require a $10 filter.

San Felipe Propane
To the East just off of Mar de Caribe on that same road as the referenced Propane dealer (Zeta), there is a second, smaller dealer (Silza) that is
rarely busy. Their prices have been the same as Zeta whenever I've compared them.
