Bet you cant' beat this Mexican Migra story
A couple of years ago the Baja Boyz were on our annual trek. We stopped at the border in Tijuana to get our tourist cards.
At the Immigration office one of the Boyz discovered that he brought his wife Carol's passport by mistake. Vince lives in Northern CA so going back
to get his was not an option.
As one of two Spanish speakers in the group, I took it upon myself to get us out of this mess.
Lucky for us, Vince (who I had known for about 24 hours) has an Irish name. I explained the situation and the agent asked me if Vince was a US
citizen; I proceeded to tell him that Vince was a former Marine who served in Viet Nam, etc.
The agent suggested we write his wife's passport number and he issued the tourist card. We called him Carol the whole trip.
Sin mordida.

Es Verdad!
I was standing right next to Vince,
sure was hard to keep a straight face as BV launched into his sincere faced story.
"Carol" had a great trip, too, I might add...

Pre-passport required return?
Was 'Carol' in charge of artillery guidance on that trip per chance?

Matt, that was before Carol....
Last year they let me shoot my first rocket (I was the forward observer on the infamous bombardment of your campamento)
I sank the stick too far in the soft ground, and on ignition there was no lift-off.
Things got real ugly, real quick....

runner-- it is clear that
you people do not know much about rockets
the strange part was that the US agents never asked for his papers on return

A Nordstrom receipt for clothes once got my tent trailer with boat on top into Baja. When questions were asked I started to play "stamp the papers" in
a playful way on stacks of papers on the guys desk, this elicited laughter, the stamp hit the paper and we were good to go.
Stayed at Conception Bay, raked clams out of the sand and took boat in morning out to shrimp boat for the days supply. Stars from horizon to horizon
and a red tide generating green phosphorescent waves and bursts of light as one waked the beach and the fish swam away from shore. Magic.
