I've been on that beach. It's very remote and beautiful.

Okay, I'll tell you. It's the runway at Rancho Las Cruces. I haven't landed there yet but I will someday.
It's south of La Paz and north of Punta Arena. It's a private resort but open to the public with prior permission.

Just a piece of history but this is where Cortez landed when he came to Baja.

I have spent the winter on a beach about 10 miles South of Las Cruces and have enjoyed it a lot.

I have watched your Posts with Interest. Now I am going to comment!
The very first thing you should do is Slow-Down! Thne set out how much time you can spend in Baja, then find yourselfr a Tail-dragger, Cessna 172 with
the 180 Engine, Older i82 with Long Range Tanks then get a hold of all of the old books on Landingstrips in Baja and start doing an "Adventure""
You will not have to spend so much time making the money to drive an expensive plane with a load of Passengers. That way you can do more and really
get into Flying in Baja.
There are still some strips and places you can go for Isolation and fishing and you will meet some great People.
You seem to be the type of person that will take a Risk for an Adventure, so do it!- Not because it feels Good", but for the sheer pleasure of doing
something different.
I would strongly suggest a High Wing Aircraft for viewing the Ground. A smaller Aircraft can get you into some very Isolated Spots. Once you find all
the good spots and want to share with your friends you can get the larger one.

started 1979 in rented club cherokees 180s. camped whatever - all dirt no problems
went to mooney 200 HP exec 1985 - camped all dirt no problem
went to piper comanche 1996 - camped whatever, all dirt. limited to 1700 ft as shortest i'll do. that is La Purisma. Cadaje dicey too at 2000' if it's
hot out but with the right technique you can do it.
high wing is ok if you like to stare down instead of up - and back assward gear (conventional) have merits but i never let a low wing and tri gear
ever cramp my style hopping all over the peninsula for 30 years!
bottom line.....do it.
that strip is one way in and one way out....better hope the winds are right. it is SHORT too!!

We landed there in 1961. Twin engine plane, overhead wing, Aero Commander. My uncle piloted, and he had been there several times before.

one of the best planes around.
the Jefe of the BBP flies one now. his second Shrike commander.
anyone seen Bob Hoover's Shrike aerial routine?? mind blowing.

Since FishBuck spilled the beans, here's more, you can paddles in either direction and find small private beaches and arroyos to walk, perfect for
valentines. The swimming is good too and the colors of the rocks are at times indescribable. I also understand that by appt/invititaion you can dine
at Los Cruces--all of this is best done by small boat/kayak and by foot.

I drove in from La Paz. I wanted to get permission to fly in.
The place was empty but the bar was still open.
They were nice to me and I toured the grounds and had a few drinks.
The road in is very rough. I recommend flying in.
And yes, they dress for dinner.
