Waves are very large here today with plenty of wind also. I hope this doesn't screw up my fishing plans this weekend.:o

Bigger but junky here in OB. Would love to get out but it's totally disorganized and blown. Wind blew all night. Hopefully will clean up for tomorrow or even an evening session.

Surfer Jim,

Just got back from Baja. Saw the same thing you did on Thursday at Surfline and decided not to wait and see. Got to Rancho La Concha at about 3:00 Friday afternoon. On the way down, K55 was breaking big and clean north of the point. Hoped that was a sign of good things to come, but alas, all that came along where I camped was a pulse on Sat PM at high tide. Overhead drops and fast, pounding beach break. Driving back today Calafia was looking fun. Definetly overhead but there were at least 20 guys on it. I took a pass. Hope you scored where ever you went.

I talked to Rosarito last night and heard the waves are BIG. Surfer Jim, what are you driving? Maybe I will stop by there on the way north and say hello.

We will be going down in friends' FORD van ...1987 gold colored...leave late Thursday 9 pm ... arrive San Carlos about sunrise?....we will be camping at the "point" at San Carlos or as close to it as possible...leave there Monday around noon...come on down.....

Just to clarify this is the SAN CARLOS just south of El Rosario...will stop by BAJA CACTUS / Pemex as time permits....

High Surf Advisory

Got a High Surf Advisory
from the National Weather Service on my pager for Orange and San Diego Counties. through 9 PM on monday....

Quote:
The large south swell from Hurricane Howard will create widespread surf of 5 to 7 feet with occasional swells to 9 feet in most of Orange and Northern Can Diego Counties. The high surf will also occur in Southern San Diego County, but will not be as widespread. The swell is expected to peak sunday night and monday. The swell will then turn to the soutwest tuesday and will will then begin to decrease....

I'll Bet Mexitron is kicking himself for postponing our annual Labor Day trip to to Blanca for a few weeks...Personally I like it calm for fishing....

Totally inconsistant here in OB. The south swell blows right by us here. Just talked to my buddy up at Faria and he said its clean, consistant and fun size.
