Here is an opportunity for some enterprising gringo (free and unincumbered access to the border is a must)

yup, could make it a company, with different people from different areas doing the shopping, have customers give them their lists and
gringoshoppersinc bring it back... hmmm, i can see the entrepreneur part of me with antennas going up! can be done online...gringoshoppers.com

Done all the time. People even advertise in the local papers. It is illegal but unless you're loaded to the gills I doubt anyone would get
caught. Even if you do you can always bribe someone.
Tell you what would work:
Set up a small bodega just south of the border. Could be a friend's garage. Contract with someone who would go across on a regular basis and buy those
items you can't find. Then send up a truck or van.
