Same, Same, Same!!!
Its the same old headlines meant to grab, spread fear, and possibly detour my Baja adventures. I am aware of the dangers "lurking", as are my
friends. But, I'm still taking my Jeep (and friends' Jeeps) to Baja in '09.
Anyone else tired of the same old headlines?

If my mother-in-law forwards another "news" article to my wife regarding the dangers of Mexico, I'm going to puke.

Alas, good news sells few papers and is pretty much a non-starter on TV.

Unsolicited review from my sister's vacation, first week in March:
I LOVE MEXICO AND THE PEOPLE!!! Peter didn’t want to leave, nor did any of us.
Had a blast and best vacation ever.
We have never been so well fed with FRESH food all the time, and I am now addicted to fruits, ceviche, freshly squeezed orange juice, guacamole and
bread down the street within walking distance every morning. My stomach never felt so good, thanks to a water filtration system in the house and
careful scrubbing and soaking of veggies for los Americanos.

we've spent 2 of the past 4 week-ends in the northern lands.
these are the good old days all over again. you know, NO OTHER GRINGOS! good that is, unless you rely on the gringos for your livelihood.....
but don't tell your mother in law, or anyone else.....

I love headlines. They lead me to the font of Pure Truth. I bisect the word and please myself with the lineal [lines] aspect of the word which
denotes our western way of comprehension and communication as opposed to the Oriental [Aztec] way of cyclical thought.
I'm drawn to the reference of "Head" for so many reasons....most of which I'm disinclined to elaborate here.
Needless to say, [so, I'll say it ] the word, "headline" is a loaded, gorged if you will, or may, or might with spermy, slimey nonsense to be dealt
with at a later date....or now, if one is so inclined.
That's the way I sees it.

Glad that's settled
I guess they can get rid of all the checkpoints south of TJ. The drugs obviously aren't coming from here.

Demand side map would center further North. And seriously, Ken, the graphic is stylish. But if it was accurate, then the many tales of drug movement
up and down Baja would be folk tales.

All I can say is that all this fear of traveling in Baja has stressed me out so much my marijuana habit has at LEAST doubled.
Ironic is the only word that comes to mind.

Kudos to Mike Huckabee and his bit with the congresswoman tonight on his show. Her mother was on her way down Baja to her second home and Mike made
sure everyone heard her say she had no fears for her mother's travels. Thanks, Mike.

If it is as many pretty colors as this one, I want to see it too.
This reminds me of my Grateful Dead days for some reason.

It's great that the arrows stop at the border, otherwise I was really starting to think we had a drug problem here in the states.

jeez...just today spoke to a good friend on the phone and said that perhaps she can come with me to to baja, and she said, "no thanks, do u know
what's going on there?" i said, "yes, i have." and she replied, "do u REALLY know? all those headless bodies." what she fails to remember is that
same stuff goes on in the states. i LOVE the place, and yes, although i have heard of these things, i feel so safe in my home in baja when i visit.
i sit there and look out of the mountain in front of my home, and to the right i see the ocean. iit's all in where u put your attention... i put my
attention there.

I am pleased to see that many in our government are recognizing that the problem in Mexico is a shared blame-we consume the drugs and supply much of
the weapons and the cartels supply the illegal drugs to us and buy the weapons.
