Dateline: La Salina Baja California

This past Saturday over three hundred Baja Lovers gathered in the Cantina where Ramon Puente presided as JEFE for the past 32 years. There were all here to thank Ramon for pouring a stout drink and being a friend to everyone for all those years.

I guess all of those guys and gals were able to rein in their 'fear' of Baja to pat Ramon on the back one more time and have a ball talking about how much more roomy Baja has become after all of the 'BAD' news........Even noticed a few Nomaders in the crowd.

What a guy! Those that knew him will miss him and those who didn't.......well! they have missed too much already.

Stop by the Cantina and say hi to his son-in-law, Gus, who is now the Oficial New JEFE..........he pours a great drink...is a interested listener...and has a wonderful smile.

My smidgen of a claim to fame is that I have had so many really good friends. By Bernie Swaim December 2007

That's a lot of folks for that place, Bernie. Must have spilled over and out to the beach. Glad you all had a good time.
