Update on Family's Stolen Plane in Muleje
The family who went through the ordeal in Muleje in April 2008 finally agreed to be interviewed by our local paper in the Boise area. Many of you
helped them during this time and I thought you might be interested.

PS I hope I posted this in the right section - just know some of you might find this interesting.

Interesting article---thanks for posting it.
One thing I really found interesting was the terrible attitude and lack of help from the US Consulate----
I am really happy the family was OK and they sure deserved to be treated better by the US officials.

Thanks for the good report. I was glad to read that even going through all that bad time, that he will go back to Baja.
I was there the morning it happened.
It is a SHAME that the U.S. Govt. is so out of date in helping their Citizens that have trouble in Baja.
Shame on those Govt. Officials!!

The Mexican drug cartel seem to look at the airport in Mulege as a "used airplane" car lot!!!! I think this must be #14??????? from this airport
since I started going to Loreto about 20 years ago.???????? Should be some form of notice given by 'authorities' who give permission to leave the
u.s. airspace if going to Mulege airport, do so at your own risk, and advise of the multiple thefts that occur at that airport. Any other airports in
Baja having this problem.????????? Would be interesting to know. how about it Capt. Mike. You bothered when you fly in???? You probably,
disconnect the yoke, and take it with you to your room, huh?????? How about removing at least one tire & wheel. that would keep them on the
ground!!!! Idea. Has anyone investigated any of the employees at the serenidad hotel who might be receiving compensation for "calling someone" when
a 206 arrives???? should be worth a $1,000.00 u.s. 'bonus' if they make off with it.

I found it interesting that the comments were so negative toward the family and Sen. Craig but the U.S. TJ Consulate got a pass.

Unfortunately, we have lots of rednecks in Idaho and it shows in the comments. Sen. Craig embarrassed all of us but, trust me, Bill Sali didn't do
much else positive while he was in office. He HAD to go!! There, I'm off my soapbox and thankful this family made it home safely - without much help
from their own government. It was people like you who live in Muleje who are to be credited with helping them through such a traumatic time. I was
pleased to see that their little girls didn't totally comprehend the danger they were in. I cannot even imagine what a nightmare it was.
