I'm back...
from San Carlos....good trip except for lack of waves...never much more than knee high with a few waist high...been doing this trip 1-3 times a year
since 1988 so the chain remains unbroken for this year...
crossed border T.J. northbound about 4:45 P.M. Tuesday in about 10-12 minutes......

Hey Jim... that Hurricane Javier is heading right up the coast, you came back too soon for some real waves!
Did you camp at Solosports or just nearby? Anything else to report? Did you get any langostas from the village? Side trip to Las Pintas?

jim will you be down for the baja 1000? i'll be down at my place with about 10 guys watching the race. looks like remnants of the hurricane will be
going over that area next week and create alot more rain and flash floods. might be a wet year againn this year.

We camp at "the point" down a ways from SOLO...only 5 vehicles there this time with a few more coming in as we left as they heard of waves on the
way... ...no side trips as we had my friends van...still want to do some...we did
hear of a trail (walking/bicycle) that goes to the top of the mesa from below....we did a BBQ thing with our own food this time...but then I never eat
anything from down there anyway ....will be watching the 1000 for sure but from
where I have no idea....

No, Punta San Carlos on Baja's Pacific coast (hint: SURFER Jim), where there are waves. It is south of El Rosario/Punta Baja about 30 miles as the
crow flys.
http://www.solosports.net is a windsufing 'resort' there... not much else!

Unless of course,
you spend your time with the locals rather than the gringos. Then there is plenty to do.
