Well, technically ours is a "white" heeler - mom was blue & dad was red - ours came out white with blue spots. She is the smartest dog that's
ever owned me.
Here is Luci a few days ago - she is doing well

I've always felt that dogs view humans as their best friends,
cats view humans as members of their staff.
My cat sleeps on the dog's bed and the dog won't move him off, just goes as lays on the hardwood floor.
But then again, I think the cat thinks he's a dog, since he was raised with them since he was found at the dump as an infant kitty. We come home and
there they all are sitting at the top of the steps, 2 big yellow labs and a little black cat.
(wish I could get a picture of it some day...)
PS- best wishes to your little one

Thanks for all the good thoughts---it is appreciated. And, I ALWAYS enjoy seeing everyone's dogs and yes, the cats also.
Maggie, AKA Little Miss Crabby Pants, AKA Magster the Gangster is having surgery this afternoon for a torn ACL. The vet spent a VERY long time
explaining everything to us and how common this problem is in some breeds----mostly large active breeds, but unfortunately it is also common in
c-ckers--and she is part c-cker.
And as some of you know, it is a genetic thing and not really caused by an injury like in humans---the ligament just deteriorates whether they are
active or not.
I am a mess and just hated leaving her---I think it is so difficult because we can't really explain to her why we are doing this to her.
Can't think about much else than our little gangster--(I bet many of you have more than one name for your pets)

And it is going to be a long time until she is doing this again.

Thanks again for all the thoughts and pictures---they both make me smile.
Diane

She'll forgive you once she's past the recovery period....her first run on the beach will wipe memories of today right out of her brain cells!
Without pain, you may have to rename her Former Miss Crabby Pants!

I have been accused of remembering every word and event that ever happened and told, by an unnamed source, that it is a trait of all females----they
have special memories. Maybe it does not carry over to cannine females.
Vet just called and Mags is out of surgery, did well and is not heavily sedated. Vet laughed when I told her I now needed the sedation!
Can't wait to see her and poor Tommy Dog does not know what to think---there is no little dog pushing him around.

Diane, I sent you a U2U regarding your dog. We hope and pray for a speedy recovery after surgery.
Here is more of our Chocolate Lab, LUKE!
Here he is relaxing on his new deck lounge!

He likes to also sit with us when we are outside relaxing.

All the best to Little Miss Crabby Pants!

Tim,
How is Ottis doing? At least Maggie won't be able to try and intimidate him for a while.
Bob,
Our dogs are sooooooo spoiled, but even they don't have their own patio furniture. A doggie lounge chair? That is great. Got the U2U and thanks.

"Helen The Cat"
At the risk of being politically incorrect and incurring the wrath of Nomad Dog Lovers this thread has really GONE TO THE DOGS ha ha ha
By the way I have 2 dogs, a cat, one snake and one lizard.
I had 2 cats but "Helen The Cat" ,unfortunately, was fatally mauled in my drive way a month ago by 3 dogs who their owner let run loose..

Hope Maggie is recovering nicely Diane. I have oodles of pet names for Ottis Patoetis. This here picture was taken a couple months back. Been
awhile since I used Photo Bucket and posted a picture here. Lets see how I do. He is about 9 months old now. The only time he has been to the vet,
other then his passport and shots in Vizcaino, was when he got fixed. He is still very much a puppy and one big love dove dog. Thanks again
Shari.

I'm so sorry to hear about your Maggie, they really are like our children. I would be devistated if something happened to our 3 dogs. I'm an animal
lover, you can tell by our house, 3 dogs, 1 cat, 1 iguana, and 2 guinea Pigs.
Our mexican dog pequito, is sending love and get well wishes to Maggie. Our other two canadian dogs would, but one is a royal Wich with a capital B,
and the other one I'm quite sure has down syndrome!
Please let us know how she is doing.

That is so sad and such a terrible loss. Unless it really is a killer dog, it seems that one cat can often take care of one dog, but not when they
act as a pack. Again, I am really sorry for what happened to Helen, and I hope those 3 dogs are not around to take another life!
