Vaquitos

When we named our Boston whaler Vaquita, everyone including our partner said...little cow. why would you name a boat that?
Well my friends this is why. Since whale, porpoises, dolphins(cetaceans) are all related, we thought that it was appropriate and since these poor creatures are rapidly disappearing, it has given us cause to explain this to everyone in the hopes of raising awareness of their plight.

So Nomads here you go:

I am glad that you are raising awareness of the rare and endangered Vaquita of the northern Mar de Cortez.. However, you stated that you named you boat Vaquito, perhaps just a typo. However if you meant Vaquito I can respect that..

A little 'male cow'? Wouldn't that be a 'little bull'... Torrito?

Is the paint still wet?

Just last week my 7 year old granddaughter was educating me on the plight of the vaquita. She had studied about it in summer camp.

Thanks for the tip on the documentary, Judy. Skyla and I will keep an eye open for it's premier.

You might be right, Igor. She'd just finished 'helping' carry in the groceries. She took all the heavy stuff so I wouldn't "hurt" myself.;D:biggrin:
