Your favorite bakery?
Where's your favorite panader?a?
There's one I really like on Colosio in La Paz. Not too far from the jail......but on the other side of the street. Our favorite goodies to buy are
ratones, polvorones and orejas. There's another one we like across the street from the public market. I want to say that they might be owned by the
same people or maybe just have similar names....the name is like Lili, Lily, Liliana's???? Help me out here, I can't remember.
Where are some of your favorite bakeries up and down the peninsula?

favorite bakery
There is an excellent bakery in Rosarito Beach, South end of town, East side of the street. Just North of the Hotel.
Actually there are two on adjacent blocks.
The Northerly one is great.
Has a big bin full of fresh, warm bolillos and usually fresh and warm churros up front.
Worth a quick exit off the carreterra. Take the last exit before the toll station, then just to the right as you hit Main St.
Then, leave town quick unless you like to dodge children on motorized vehicles being stupid in the street!

La Paz Bakery
Karla's on Encinas and Ortega can't be beat! All the locals consider it the best in La Paz. Try the tres leche cakes!! It takes lots of will power
to stay away.

Only one I remember other than the Super Markete(sp) in Loreto was some where [3 or 4 blocks north of the stop light and west almost to the end] and
stocked up there on orejas and other goodies (sugar addict here) then I think we tries the one on 'main' in Insurjente(sp). Hard to find parking with
a moto-home and boat trailer when goody shopping.

Great bakery in Loreto, can't remember name, begins with a "P". About two blocks in from Malacon, also sells pizza upstairs.....anyone know the name?

I was in La Paz yesterday, and my favorite Bakery, FINESSE, is closed down. Pity, our favorite. We will try Karla's now.
With all the new "mega" stores here now with their own bakeries in them, this must be the reason for closing.

I'm not much on names but the bakery in Santa Rosalia is great, as is the bakery in Loreto. As Capt George says, they (the bakery in Loreto) also
have a pizzaria upstairs and the peperoni pizza is really good. Juan

The El Bolero in Santa Rosalia is famous but they had a guy who worked for them who left and signed a no compete clause. He opened a bakery on the
North Side of Santa Rosalia and it is beyond a doubt the very best bakery in all of Baja. You have to go in around 3:30 when everything is coming out
of the ovens and it is all fresh. Why some days we bring a cube of butter and eat the bolillos and fresh rolls right there on the spot. A couple of
days we ate so many that we kind of fell into a stupor and I think that they found us the next day like that.
About half the price of El Bolero and twice as good.

Panaderia Carmen
My favorite bakery is the Panaderia Carmen, above Colonet. It has a wood fired oven and Alphonso the baker must be in his 90's.

Strgnff, I'm so glad you made mention of Panader?a Carmen at about k124. It's been on my list to stop at for many years, because Ginger Potter
mentioned it in her Baja Book IV. Do you know what the best time of day (am or pm?) to stop is?

The bakery in Loreto is Super Garcia Panaderia on Madero 2 blocks north of the plaza, they also have one in C.Const.

Panaderia Carmen
We usually stop by around 8:30 a.m. The baker lives next door and will show up if a car stop. Its really rustic and old Baja. The pan dulce has a
smoky taste due to the wood fired oven.
