For Mike H.

So are you in LA Bay? Are there whale sharks? Why don't you stay till we get there Oct. 17? I have to have a root canal Oct. 15, groan, and then we're coming down!

If a man walks in the woods for love of them half of each day, he is in danger of being regarded as a loafer. But if he spends his days as a speculator, shearing off those woods and making the earth bald before her time, he is deemed an industrious and enterprising citizen. Henry David Thoreau

Just Got Back Tonight,

We stayed a day beyond what we were planning. We found several places we could live with, two we really like and they are too expensive. We found a piece of land we like that is located in an area secure from flash flood problems and owned by an individual that is willing to sell it via Fidiecomiso. We plan on negotiating with the owners of the two places we like and looking into building plans and contractors and finding an American attorney to coordinate the legalities.

The whale sharks are in and Doc has just completed even more formalized training about them. He was taking groups out almost daily, mostly to the south end near Gecko.

Mary Ann is getting her knee replaced (gasp!) ASAP or we?d be there. We need to go back to discuss plans and costs for building with the locals in Bahia.

All in all we had a great trip but we?d hoped to come to a conclusion regarding buying a house there by now. But the prices of those we like are just too high.

Have a good trip and let us know how things are going.

Hey! Sounds like it was very productive. Unfortunately my friend Steve had to delay his trip down there because he didn't have the building materials ready he wanted to take down with him, so we are delaying also. That actually works out well for me because I need to arrange some work asap on my house in Joshua Tree. But sigh your description makes me regret it!!!
