will there be a weekend fundraiser for those of us who work? just kidding.... sorta!

we'll make a donation this week just as so many of you Nomads helped our friends, the family of Elsa Aguilar Gerardo "La Mijita" last November in El Rosario.

Hi, wish I could be there, but won't be able to get down until 9-4. I was living in the 3rd brick house along the road at Rancho El Joral when Maria first moved to the Ranch as new new bride almost 40 years ago. She has worked very hard to make what had been the ranch bodega a home. She really deserves this outpouring of caring and relief. I'll make a point to see her over Labor Day.

Hi All. It went great!!! I presented her with $1217.75 from our Nomads donations. $600.00 the first week and another $617.75 at the fundraiser. We also gave her another $1320.00 that was raised at the fundraiser its self. So grand total in cash. $2537.75. Now that doesn't even take in to acct the two truck loads of things Bernie and Jaime brought down in person with more to come ,they have had to hold the furniture until Maria gets a place to put it. Diana said she is bring the serger Bajanuts is sending and there is still more coming. Maria and her husband Polo cannot thank you enough. They were speechless. There is much more coming from the La Mision community also. Special Thanks to Noproblema and cathart for bringing this to our attention in the first place so we could all help. I know they gave private donations to Maria and Polo the first night to make sure they had a place to stay and food to eat. Thanks also to DJ and the ladies of the La Mision community that cooked the spaghetti and made the sangria and helped with all the decorations. We gave Maria and Polo all the leftover food to take home with them to help feed all the workers and family that are at their house daily to help clean up the mess and start the rebuilding. Fantastic. People helping people. Lots of good vibes everywhere . Many lovely things donated from our local restaurants and hotels and business owners for our raffle. It was a coming together of caring souls. Thank you,Thank you ,Thank you, from all of us,k
