From MSNBC
I was reading the MSNBC report on the hurricane this morning when I came across this statement.
"It predicted the storm would weaken further as it runs north up the Baja peninsula, which is home to about 3.5 million people, including more than
150,000 U.S. citizens, according to the U.S. State Department."
I didnt realize that we had been counted.

It just goes to show how incredible news agencys can be when they set their mind to it. Here, they take a pure guess and present it as fact.
Reporting without checking facts is unethical, to say the least.

Guesses
MSNBC fulfilled their obligation to news ethics by citing the source; that ultra-ethical US State Department.

Up here that might be one in fifty. Of course, that's just a guess. If MSNBC can do it, so can I.

Of the 150,000 how many are US, Canadian, French Canadian, Australian, English, etc etc? How many have FM3, FM2 etc etc? If MSNBC is so intelligent,
how come they don't know this stuff? But, what the hell, skewing the truth is the way news is reported nowadays. "Facts", what's that?

Over-ANALyzing
While I'm no fan of PMSNBC, all they did was pass on a meaningless factoid from the State Department that nobody's interested in.
None of the U.S. news agencies give a rip about Baja's inhabitants, native or foreign unless there's a disaster to report on. Hopefully, with bodies.
