I Want to Adopt an Orphan Kayak

13' - 15' Sea Kayak. Ocean Prowler 13' or 15', Ocean Scupper Pro, Malibu Extreme or Cobra Tourer class of boat is my goal. Perhaps you, your friend, your neighbor or your ex have one sitting in their garage, pining for a new, happy home and an energetic captain? Location preferred between San Quintin, Baja California and Los Angeles, Alta California. The right set-up may fetch $400 U.S., depending upon condition, paddle & seat included and energy of wagging tail.

Labor Day weekend, south side of Punta Banda, 2009.

$400?

good luck! that is a STEAL used, the guy will probably throw in pole holders and a bait tank set up...

donated? like i said, "good luck!"

edit: maybe your use of "adopted" and "orphan" makes me think donation. $400 used is a great price.

There is an OK Prowler 13 on http://www.bigwatersedge.com/ for $475 w/o the paddle. A couple others better equipped but in the $800 range.

Prowler for $50.00

I paid $50.00 for my prowler, "sort of" In 2003 I paid $50.00 to enter a kayak fishing derby. I caught the big fish and won an Ocean Kayak Prowler, at the time worth $1000. Ive sence made a live bait tank for it installed a fish finder. I'll be in Asuncion the first week of Nov. I'll let you borrow it. I also have a Wilderness Systems Tarpon. you can borrow that too.

LAUNCHING NEW KAYAK FLEET

Thanks for all of the encouragement and assistance here, Nomads. Less than 2 weeks after my advertisement here, found 3 kayaks for far less than $1,000, including my fuel expense to retrieve them in socal.

1. Ocean Scupper Pro(yellow), included upgraded seat, paddle, rod holder, tank and lots of straps, bungees. May have been used 6 times.
2. Cobra XL(white), an older model that had been sitting outside, waiting for adoption. This smaller model will be great for those of us in the </= 80 kilo weight class, and included seat and paddle.
3. Ocean Malibu 2(blue), included seats, paddles, wheels, dry bag, other. This 2man will be great for fishing, due to the 34" widebody deck for gear.

Dockerty's Pub and Kayak Rental is ready for guests.

Bajadock,

Do you have a zip line down to the water's edge for easy launching from your pad? Knowing where your house is, that looks like quite a ride!

Congrats on your new fleet.

Ken. yours is a solid value at $600, but kayak sales on craigslist have slowed since Sept 1.

P y D, my "zip line" looks like my Jeep Cherokee hauling them over to south side at Camp Kennedy for launch. Just purchased my 4th kayak today, another Ocean Scupper Pro.

Slowed, they have. My kayak also has a small warped section making it a "blem" which has made it a little more difficult to sell. I have been honest to everyone so that they know about this, which is why I have lowered my asking price from $500 down to $400.
