Vacation day in Baja Sur
The water is mid 80s now and perfect for snorkeling so I took a vacation day at Shell Beach just south of Punta Pescadero. Lots and lots of fish the
netters haven't taken yet.

So just exactly what distinguishes a "Vacation" day from just a plain old sitting around and soaking up paradise kind of day? These are important
questions that one needs to ponder.

Well, my pal and I in his tin boat the day before circled the boats in a tuna hole, pulled out a nice dorado and on the next circle picked up a bait
panga just as it was headed out for more sardines. My pal was on it but it had too much power and it almost spooled us before it broke off and ate my
old white feather. Out of courtesy to my host I'm calling that a long line release, not a nautical mis-step. I just needed a little break from all
these cheap thrills around here.

whatta gorgeous spot, huh...one day i took my "young adult" kids out there and got them all hyped up about the snorkeling and they were only here for
christmas break and after the tenuous drive out they got all pumped up and we parked and they ran down the beach to the rocks and put on their gear
and dove in....and the water was absolutely slimy with jellyfish...they were just coated in them...a little uncomfortable, to say the least...i'm glad
i'm slow cause they were screamin' when i got there...nice place tho, and the only time i've seen jellyfish there..nice alter there too, built into
the rocks.

Ya, a guy has to take a vacation occasionaly, even if it's from his vacation.
I once did an informal survey in Vegas "Were do you like to go for your vacation?", the most common answer "Disneyland". Go figure.
For those living in Baja it seems that a vacation is visting your neighbors paradise. Sort of a high class version of the Polish vacation, sitting on
your neighbors stoop.
Great pic!
