Natalie Ann has posted the finest aerial photos of Gonzaga Bay I have seen... She has posted them often on Nomad... so just use the Nomad search... If I find it before anyone else, I will bump it up for you... Here it is, in this thread of photos called 'Icons of Baja' by tripledigitken (2 photos posted 5-10-09): http://forums.bajanomad.com/viewthread.php?tid=38627
===================================================

Because I am a history buff... let me just add that while many fishermen and maps call one of the two bays 'Willard Bay', the true name of the north bay (between Papa Fernandez' and Alfonsina's) is Bahia San Luis Gonzaga, as is the island... The larger bay between Alfonsina's and Punta Final is Ensenada de San Francisquito... Yes, a mouth-full.. so we all call the other part 'Gonzaga', as well!:biggrin:

Now, the point that is the north end of S.L. Gonzaga Bay next to Papa's campo IS 'Willard Point' without any protest I have seen.

Some maps...

Greg Joder has some great aerial video of that area taken from my plane. i have it on a CD-V format, maybe he'll see this and do a you tube.
i honestly don't know how to convert it.
the closest i found in my stills is Bufeo.

Odd thing about 'your' picture BajaWarrior.... it is exactly - to the nth degree - like my photo, already posted and referenced by DavidK.

Look closely, amigo.... the ships and boats are in exactly the same place, the light is the same, images match perfectly (see original below).

I have to say I'm very disappointed to see that you've posted my image without giving me credit. Looks like you figured it was yours.
Please do not do that again.

Beautiful shot, Nena.

I remember another one taken from the oposite direction that was just as good if not better.

A spectacular place. It's a shame about the paved road advancing on this corner of baja.

Not only is it MY image, BajaWarrior has added it to HIS photobucket site (see image properties). The photo had best be disappeared from that site before you can say 'jack robinson'.... and I'm not just whistling Dixie here.

Thank you, Igor. Those Gonzaga aerial pix are my favorites from that flying trip. I'll take a look through my stash of photos and see if I can come up with a few more.

And yes, it is such a spectacular place.... I've said so many times that I believe heaven is exactly there. I look at bbbait's photos of that solid paved road cutting through some of the most beautiful country anywhere in the world... makes me cry.

No harm intended Nena, Baitcast asked for the great photo of Gonzaga Bay, DavidK referanced the original post here on BajaNomad, and I did a little digging and found it, great photo BTW.

I will remove it from my Photobucket, sorry about any confusion, I only provided it to Baitcast and did not take claim, sorry I did not give you credit for your photo as well...

Baitcast, how are you? I remember when my Dad went through the same surgery you recently had, it kicked his burro but he is still here over twenty years later...

Get well!
